Whew!
Screened our film last night, as part of the 48 Hour Project at the Civic Theatre, Auckland's best cinema. It's beautiful place, a fully restored old theatre complete with plaster lions and a projected sky which has 'stars' peeking through the ceiling as you watch the screen. Lovely.
So while I was stoked that our film would screen there, along with the 129 others from the Auckland heats, I was a little nervous about it to, having had all the trouble that we did with our film. Plus, my parents were coming, and our film was a little ribald.
But all went well. Our team had a good turnout and we managed to be the loudest (showed we were having the most fun, or maybe just the most beer). And our film was a lot better than I remembered. Maybe it was the Civic that made the difference, as last time I watched it, I was in the edit suite next door to my office. Anyway, it looked quite good, it got some laughs and it even made sense (our big worry). I couldn't help but wish that we had had the extra five hours of edit time that we missed out on. But next year.
Still crossing fingers to hear about potential new flat. Big crossed fingers. Fleet Street charmingly has a new magical mystery flatmate moving in today who I haven't even met. So that's obviously going to go swimmingly.
